I started appreciating nudism by sleeping in the nude. Afterwards I started to do my work around the house naked. My wife was surprised when I came downstairs bare one day and I really could tell her unwillingness.
One late summer day after working on the boat I was genuinely warm so I drove around to the lake. Since it was mid-evening there were very few people in the beech so it managed to find a secluded area. I walked into the lake and when torso deep took off my swimsuit. It felt amazing. Before I walked out of the water, so as to not offend anyone, I put the suit back on. I’ll never forget the feeling of the first time nude in Lake Michigan.
Towards the end of summer I walked from the lake into the dunes. I removed my swimsuit and was nude outdoors, other than my backyard, for the first time. I remember thinking to myself that I am a “nudist.”
After trekking in the dunes a number of times but concerned about clothed hikers I decided on trying a nudist club. The best part of going to a club is that can wonder along the nature trail, go into the pool, etc. and not be concerned about other people.
Being at a club, it doesn’t matter if someone is naked or not. YOU can be naked and appreciate. I just wish I would have started this before.
Everything I Thought It Would Be
After discussing a visit to Gunnison Beach here in NJ, my lovely wife and I chose to make the excursion. I’m 40 and my wife is 41. We were both aware that it was ‘clothes optional’ and I knew that most individuals would be nude, but I believe my wife believed it’d be a 50-50 split (naked, partially nude).
When we got there she was a bit overwhelmed. She didn’t take her suit away at all. Nevertheless, after a while of sitting in our seats and watching the scenery, I felt I really could take the next step. I asked my wife if she believed it was OK, and she looked at me with a look that said, “are you crazy?” But she afterward said, “sure, do it.”
A number of seconds after, I stood up and took off my swim suit. And guess what? Nothing occurred. No quake. No bolt of lightning. Nothing. Everyone went about their business.
I, however, adored this new feeling…sitting in the sun, wind blowing…it was incredibly refreshing and freeing. I loved it. After a couple of beers, I asked my wife if she desired to walk to the water with me. Again, she looked at me with a look that said, “are you insane?”
I said, “why not.” So, at first she did not want to go, but after a second she said certain. That was fairly intimidating. I am walking in my birthday suit through dozens of women and men.
Anyway, the water was beautiful. Swimming sans clothing was a first for me too…and it was another fantastic experience. I made the walk from our chairs to the water 3 or 4 times, whenever appreciating it increasingly more.
I’d love to return and try it again. My wife is now referring to going back and removing her top. Hey, whatever makes her comfortable. We’ll see how it goes.
Our Bare Experience
When I was a boy the words “naked” or “nude” were not part of my family’s vocabulary. The only nudity we understood started with your shower, and ended as soon as you can grab your towel. My brother and I never went shirtless or barefoot. We were never even allowed to wear sandals or flip flops. Being bare was never an alternative.
As always, life goes on. School, work, marriage, kids, divorce; all flew by in what seemed to be a brief span of time. With the birth of the Internet I found out about this matter call “social nudism.” I was intrigued and the thought grew slowly that I’d like to take part in this naked experience. After my divorce, I began to sleep in the nude, which I found to really be much more comfortable than wearing pajamas. Still I lacked any social interaction with other nudists.
About this time I remarried. My wife, of Eastern European background, was open to our sleep nude. Following the children moved out to start their very own families, we started to be much freer with our clothing at home and we talked often about nudity and whether it was right or wrong according to Biblical standards. As Christians we desired to do the right thing. Assessment of the Scriptures led us to the final outcome that simply being bare, and being naked with others wasn’t in battle with our Bible. We started to be naked at home more and more. We still hadn’t been able to go everywhere that allowed nudity.
Finally we had our chance one winter when we were on a Caribbean cruise. The boat docked in Jamaica. I ‘d already learned that we could get day passes at a resort that had an Au Natural isle. We took a taxi to the resort and checked in at the desk. They needed to show us around the resort but surprisingly my wife would have nothing to do with such a tour. She needed to get out to the island when possible. I could not agree more. When we arrived, we found two lounge chairs in a sunny location. We had our clothes away in the blink of an eye. Like many others have said, it was so good to be naked. We swam around a little and then came the moment of truth – meeting other folks. We spoke to a few of the other guests and we loved our time there so much we truly hated to leave. Being naked on the island was so natural and http://videonudism.com/teen . We were hooked!
This summer we have traveled to three nudist clubs/resorts. We even ran in a clothing optional 5K race at Turtle Lake Resort in Michigan. We’d so much fun. My partner and I agreed that we should have done this earlier! Why did we wait so long?
Our Michigan First Time
My wife and I regularly holiday in Michigan. We’re household nudists for the last six months. By this I mean that we were remaining naked sometimes after a shower and then we began being nude before bedtime. We drink coffee and eat lunch naked.
My wife was unwilling but she concurred that there was no harm since we have been married more than 35 years. This summer we went north and found a disjunct lonely shore in northern Michigan. We walked for miles to discover a peaceful area to read and http://nudistshots.com . Most beaches in Michigan are full of noisy kids and furious parents. We merely needed seclusion to locate some peace and relish the sunshine.
Yet, I went swimming after an hour of sunshine and my swimsuit got too wet to lay down on my towel so I took it off. My wife, who’s terribly shy and very spiritual was worried that we might be arrested for my nakedness. We are conservative Republicans and we don’t condone criminal actions. But I explained to her that as long as nobody was seeing me naked I committed no crime.
She was getting hot and after much whining she also brought of her swimsuit and went for a dip at the lake. I don’t understand why being naked is a crime if you’ve a designated location where it could be legal to be without your clothing. Anyway we will begin writing our representatives to modify the laws in the Michigan National Lakeshore so that individuals do not have to feel like criminals if they violate no one.
I really don’t understand why with the membership your organizations has, nobody has come up with a strategy to legalize some regions of Michigan to be clothing optional. We must change the perception that nakedness is a offense that should be punished by the law.

Let the Adventure Begin!
I have always found it fascinating how different people define their “first time” nudist experience. While the first social nudist experience is a significant occasion, I truly consider two “first times” when I think of my nudist life.
First, is the conscious choice to embrace nudism as part of who I am as a person — to buck societal standards, to accept something some others see as peculiar. From my first age, I’ve always loved being naked. However, I was far from open about it, keeping it concealed, keeping it to myself, and like many others, only spending time nude when alone. Why? Anxiety. Fear of ridicule, humiliation, and not being who others desired me to be.
Moreover, there was a specific amount of self doubt that perhaps my nudist avocation was “a bit odd.” Perhaps it was just a phase. It wasn’t until early adulthood that I eventually said, nope, this isn’t bizarre, it isn’t a stage — it is pure, it is wholesome, it’s authentic, it’s entertaining, and it’s beautiful. More importantly, it is part of me. I’m very proud of that conclusion. It’s an accomplishment every nudist or naturist shares.
My first “social” experience was not at a club or a shore or anything like that. It was in my home. It was the night I got up the nerve, turned to my wife and said, “I think I Had like to be nude round the home occasionally…..just because I like it. Will that freak you out?” Clearly, she knew I certainly enjoyed being naked, but I ‘d never sought out time to be bare only for the pure enjoyment of it. Obviously, she didn’t mind. I will never forget the exhilaration of walking into our living room, just minutes later, totally naked.
Ever since then, I have had many “bare adventures.” As much as I cherish each if them, they all go back to the day I first determined nudism was really going to be a portion of my own life as well as the night I shared it with the love of my own life. I’m a better person for it — more joyful, more understanding, more accepting. I’m happy to say I have never looked back!
